The Tilta TA-BJ-BJ is an extension link for the Tilta Mini Articulating Arm: a short arm with a ball at each end and a 1/4″-20 mounting point in the middle. The clamp of the arm grips the ball just like on any other joint of the series; the arm gains one more point of articulation and more reach. The body is aluminium alloy and stainless steel, in black.
The Tilta TA-BJ-BJ is for the moments when the Mini Articulating Arm falls a little short or needs to bend once more — say, around the edge of the cage to a monitor on the other side.
One more bend and more reach
The link has a ball at each end and, in the middle, a block with a 1/4″-20 mounting point and holes for locating pins. The clamp of the articulating arm grips one ball and the link carries on to where the arm alone does not reach: the arm is one link longer and has one joint more, so it reaches around the corner of the cage or over the camera without another bracket. An accessory with a 1/4″-20 thread attaches to the central mounting point.
Assembled without tools
The Tilta Mini Articulating Arm has a clamp at each end that grips the ball. Release the clamp, the original joint comes out, the link goes in and the clamp locks it — it takes a few seconds, and the arm gets shorter again just as quickly when a more compact setup is better. The other end of the arm keeps the original 1/4″-20 joint, or takes another mount from the series: ARRI rosette, cold shoe, NATO clamp, 15/19 mm rod clamp, GoPro or SmallHD.
Tilta ball joints
The Tilta Mini Articulating Arm has swappable ball joints at both ends: pull one out, push another in and lock it, no tools. Ends come for ARRI rosette, cold shoe, NATO rail, 15/19 mm rods, GoPro and SmallHD, plus an extended ball joint arm for more reach. The parts combine freely — a monitor, light or transmitter lands exactly where the rig has room; this joint is one of them.
