This is the Manfrotto FF3512N86 pantograph with steel cable. The pantograph is made of aluminum in accordance with DIN 15560-46. The mounts at both ends of the pantograph are 5/8″ (16 mm) (upper female, lower male). The load capacity is ensured by a steel cable with a diameter of 2 mm. The pantograph extends from a closed length of 27 cm to a maximum length of 200 cm.
Loads of up to 12 kg can be suspended using the sliding device, while loads up to a maximum weight of 18 kg require the use of optional springs. The pantograph can be adjusted to keep suspended loads from 1 kg to 5 kg perfectly balanced.
The color gear selector allows you to adjust the friction of the pantograph, ensuring that the load remains stable in the set position, but also moves smoothly up and down when needed. It is recommended to use springs for easier lifting of the pantograph.
When choosing an additional spring for your pantograph, you must first determine exactly which pantograph model you have in order to select the correct length spring. If you have a new compact pantograph, the TOP 2 version (see above) has a red serrated ring, while the TOP 4 version has a blue serrated ring.
