Manfrotto 173B is a compact black aluminium boom arm for positioning a small studio light, flash head or compatible accessory away from the centre line of a lighting stand. Its 109 cm long, 20 mm diameter tube ends in standard 16 mm (5/8″) studs with 1/4″-20 and 3/8″ threaded tips, so it integrates with common studio mounting hardware. This product is the arm only; the pivoting clamp, support stand and counterweight must be selected separately to suit the load and setup.
Place a light beyond the stand
The rigid 109 cm aluminium arm helps position a compact light or accessory above, beside or in front of the subject while the stand remains outside the working area.

The arm provides 16 mm (5/8″) studs with 1/4″-20 and 3/8″ threaded tips. Select the end that matches the mounted accessory and secure the 20 mm tube in a compatible pivoting boom clamp.

Model 173B is supplied without a stand, pivoting clamp or counterweight. A compatible clamp for a 20 mm shaft and suitable counterbalance are essential parts of a stable boom setup; always size the complete support to the attached equipment.
