The Tilta Heavy Duty Vertical Mounting Bracket ES-T20-VMB stands the Sony FX6 on its side for vertical video and carries it complete with cage, lens and accessories. It fits the side of the camera body at the rosette of the original handgrip, its lower foot sits on the Tilta quick release baseplate, and it is covered in 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads for further accessories. The Tilta Heavy Duty Vertical Mounting Bracket for Sony FX6 is the load-bearing part for vertical shooting. Unlike the light vertical mounting plate ES-T20-VMP, it is built for the camera to stand on its side as a whole — with cage, heavier lens, battery plate and monitor — and hold rigidly on a tripod or gimbal.
On the side of the camera, at the rosette
The bracket fits the side of the Sony FX6 body where the rosette of the original handgrip is; the back has a recess for the rosette, so it sits tight against the body and does not twist. The outer face carries a row of 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads which, in normal horizontal shooting, hold a wireless video transmitter, wireless microphone or a small monitor. It combines with the Tilta ES-T20 cage without modification.
Camera upright, load-bearing structure
For vertical video the bracket becomes the bottom of the rig: the camera is laid on its side and the bracket’s foot is screwed to the Tilta quick release baseplate, which then sits on the tripod or dovetail. The heavy-duty machined aluminium structure carries the camera complete with cage, lens and battery plate, and with the adjustable top handle ES-T20-TH2 turned through 180° the rig is carried as comfortably as in horizontal.
A complement to the vertical mounting plate
The light vertical mounting plate ES-T20-VMP from the Vertical Mounting Kit is enough for light builds; the heavy-duty bracket is for those where a heavy lens or a lot of accessories sit on the camera and the rig is moved often. The bracket is machined aluminium alloy in black, matching the ES-T20 cage.
The Tilta cage for the Sony FX6
The Tilta cage for the Sony FX6 (ES-T20) wraps the camera with all ports protected and adds 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 mounting points with ARRI locating pins, NATO rails and 15 mm rod holders. The ES-T20 accessories build on it — top plate, handles, battery plates, side plate or rod holders mount to the cage and to the camera body and combine freely; this one is among them.
