Sony Alpha cage designed for the Sony A7S II,  A7R II and A7 II mirrorless digital 4k camera. The cage is designed to give easy access to the control buttons, the side outputs and the battery compartment; which is an important thing when you are shooting. You will not waste any time removing the camera from the cage to access the memory card or to change the battery.

An important feature of this cage is the micro-HDMI cable protector lock on the side to secure the use of your HDMI 4K cable. By leaving access open to the hot shoe on top of the camera, you can mount different accessories. This cage is compatible with the Sony XLR-K2M audio unit, so you can have great sound for your videos.

There’s also another hot shoe on the top of the cage available for accessory attachments. You can attach the SHAPE handle with the red Push-Button (ALPHAND). Integrated in the cage, there is a Metabones® adapter support bracket. When there is no Metabones® adapter, the ¼-20 screw is captive, so you don’t have to remove it from the cage and simply slide the bracket from under the cage.

The cage is easy to assemble and disassemble, and you don’t need to remove any parts of it when you want to install the camera. The camera is fixed with a ¼-20 screw with the threaded hole under it, and the position is secured with the back and the sides of the cage, so it will not move forward when equipped with a heavier lens.

You can also attach a delta adapter plate underneath the cage to mount the cage on a quick release and easily change from a tripod to a handheld setup. In addition to having access to all camera controls, you also have easy access to the lens release button. The support between the lens and the camera grip is designed to anticipate a clearing for the fingers when the camera is handheld, for an ergonomic grip. The cage features several ¼-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes for attachments and is made from CNC machined aluminum.

15 mm 10″ rods (15TUBE10)

This pair of SHAPE 15 mm Aluminum Rods (10″) connect into your camera rig, extend it, and let you add various SHAPE and third-party accessories compatible with 15 mm rods. With these two rods and with a few fundamental accessories, you can most certainly even begin building your own rig from scratch. The rods are each 15 mm in diameter, 10 inches long, hollow, non-threaded, and made of reliable aluminum coated with a clear finish.

Quick Release Baseplate

The quick release baseplate can be used as a table stand or can be attached to a tripod. The bottom of the base block designed with a removable Metabones® Support Bracket perfect to support heavier lens. The rod bloc travel height is adjustable with an Allan Key to allow an optimal adjustment of your matte box, Follow Focus and optical center.

Sony A7S II – A7R II – A7 II top handle

The top handle is designed for SHAPE A7S II, A7R II, and A7 II cage and features the unique patented SHAPE red Push-Button technology. SHAPE is well known for its patented Push-button system, now used by so many professionals in the industry. The technology was developed to give filmmakers quick and easy adjustment. By simply pressing the button, you are allowed a 360-degree rotation to place the top handle in the best position for your use. Push, adjust, release, and then its lock. It is designed to be installed on the hot shoe adapter on our cage and fixed with a screw. The handle sides features several 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threaded holes for accessory attachment.

Follow focus friction & gear clic (FFCLIC)

The SHAPE Friction & Gear Follow-Focus Clic with Adjustable Marker is made of lightweight anodized CNC aluminum for strength and durability. It is designed to attach onto standard 15 mm rods of shoulder support rigs and other rigs. It attaches onto them via a clamp system, with simplicity. You would sit the Clic on top of the rods, and then slide and close a SHAPE-patented lever clamp underneath the rods, and the lever locks and holds the Clic securely on the rods.

The Clic’s focus mechanism also works with a clamp system, which when unlocked loosens the focus mechanism and allows it to be moved horizontally. It moves so to adjust itself closer to the lens. As it moves, its main feature — the focus disk — moves with it, and the focus disk is what reaches the lens. The focus disk can either be a friction wheel or a gear wheel.

Both are present in this package and replacing one with the other is accomplished with the help of the included Allen wrench. The friction wheel has a rubber outer surface that would press up against the lens, keep firm contact with it, and ensure accurate and slip-free focusing. The friction wheel would serve well for most lenses and is made of high-quality rubber that in cold temperatures won’t get too cold to lose its grip. The gear wheel would accommodate those lenses that specifically have teeth on their focusing rings, and it would do so without any ring gears, by pressing its 0.8 pitch gears into the teeth.

The focus mechanism can be used on either the left or the right side of the lens, depending on the direction you place the Clic onto the rods in. And the focus disk itself can be used either in front of the focus mechanism or behind it, so to accommodate a wider variety of lens lengths. To move the disk to the rear, you would first just unscrew two screws from the gearbox. Once the screws are off, the focus disk can just be flipped over for use with longer lens constructions.

The white mark disk at the right of the red knob is made of highly resistant Delrin thermoplastic. It can be written on with non-permanent markers to mark up focus measurements for various predetermined shots, and it is interchangeable and thereby many predetermined measurements can be kept ready at your side. Additionally, a slide-adjustable marker made of aluminum is included to be attached beside the mark disk and to be moved and tightened into positions along the disk.

0.8 mm pitch aluminum gear for ffclic (G053-0.8)

The SHAPE 0.8 Pitch Aluminum Gear for Follow Focus Friction and Gear Clic can be used with geared, cine lenses and 0.8 lens gears. It is compatible with the SHAPE Lens Gear Kit (0.8 Pitch) and is included with all Follow Focus Friction and Gear Clic (FFCLIC) follow focuses. The gear is constructed from aluminum for strength and durability.

Matte box 4×4 (MATT44)

The SHAPE 2-Stage 4 x 4″ Matte Box accepts lenses with up to a 105 mm front outside diameter. The main frame made of carbon fiber. It mounts to 15 mm LWS rods and utilizes a swing-away design, which lets you perform quick lens changes without having to remove the matte box from your rods.

You can adjust the height of the matte box in relation to the rods, which comes in handy when your lens center to rod center height is slightly off from the standard. Two rotating filter stages support the use of 4×4″ filters. The matte box comes with a top flag (eyebrow), side flags, six matte box donuts in 65, 77, 85, 88, 100 and 105 mm sizes, and (1) elastic donut. The matte box also has a rear opening of 100 mm for lenses.

The included anti-reflection donuts prevent light behind the camera from reflecting off any filters in the matte box and degrading the image. Included with the matte box are anti-reflection donuts for lenses with a front outside diameter of 65, 77, 85, 88, 100, 105 mm. The included elastic donut supports lenses with a front outside diameter between 65 and 105 mm, and it is especially useful with lenses that grow and shrink as you change focus or zoom.

The side flags incorporate a hook design as a safety feature where they attach to the matte box. This helps prevent them from falling out of the matte box should the lockdown thumbscrew loosen accidentally. The swing-away bracket incorporates a height adjustment, enabling you to compensate a total of 0.65″ vertically. This allows you to use this matte box with a variety of camera/rod support combinations that may vary slightly from the industry standard 85 mm distance from LWS rod center to lens port center.

Very nice experience. The item I wanted wasn't in stock, so they called me right after placing the order and suggested a similar item that was in store. I wasn't in a hurry so was willing to wait for the original item to become available again but I'm glad I was given an opportunity to choose.Received my order now and happy with how smoothly everything went. Thank you!
