The Shogun Ultra has two modes: Standalone and Cloud. When used conventionally, it offers an incredible HDR screen, new monitoring tools, and both HDMI and 12G SDI. When enabling its wireless and networking functions, you gain access to powerful Wi-Fi 6, Ethernet, and the wireless AirGlu synchronization technology—unlocking new and productive cloud workflows like Camera to Cloud and Atomos Edit. You can even edit your project in the cloud and publish it on social media within minutes of recording.
The Shogun Ultra comes with the new AtomOS 11, which includes exclusive monitoring and recording features, bringing creativity to life in every project, from film production to social media. RecordAssist and PlayBackAssist allow for scheduled or remote-controlled recording, while enhanced tools like ARRI False Color and the EL Zone System meet today’s filmmaking needs. It enables ultra-efficient cloud workflows, including dual recording of ProRes RAW/H.265 for Camera to Cloud and 4K H.265 for instant cloud-based publishing. The SDI Cine feature allows for automatic matching of file names, timecode, and recording triggers from ARRI, Canon, RED, and Sony SDI cameras.
Share what you see on your Atomos screen with other AtomOS 11 users, iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs—wirelessly in the same location or anywhere in the world, with unrestricted audio communication between devices via the built-in Atomos RemoteView function. These new features make the Shogun Ultra even more versatile, offering professional I/O options for a wide range of cameras: 12G-SDI, AirGlu wireless timecode and control, and up to 4K NDI, from entry-level mirrorless cameras to the latest compact and professional high-end cameras. The Shogun Ultra supports Wi-Fi 6E, enabling cloud video workflows and providing a more stable connection. Atomos’ close partnerships with leading camera manufacturers ensure that the Shogun Ultra works seamlessly with an expanding range of DSLR, mirrorless, and cinema cameras.

Shogun Ultra & ProRes RAW
More than 55 cameras now support RAW recording via HDMI and SDI with the Shogun Ultra, and the list continues to grow. Apple ProRes RAW combines the visual benefits and workflow of RAW video with the incredible real-time performance of ProRes. It offers filmmakers great flexibility in adjusting the look of their images, making it ideal for HDR workflows. The new Apple ProRes RAW plug-in adds camera-specific properties to the mix. Record up to 6Kp30. Or capture up to 4Kp30 ProRes for Camera to Cloud while simultaneously recording an HDp30 H.265 proxy file.
NDI with the Shogun Ultra
NDI is a way to transmit video over conventional networks (including Wi-Fi and cellular) in high quality with remarkably low bandwidth requirements. It is increasingly being used in live production, and now your Shogun can be connected to an NDI network. The NDI TX option turns your Shogun into an NDI source that is visible to all other NDI-compatible devices on the local network.
