Built-in ND
ND filters are built into the lens to suppress the amount of incident light. The filters can be selected (Clear, 1/4, 1/16 or 1/64) to match the shooting environment. This is convenient, for example, when you want to shoot at a slow shutter speed in bright daylight.
Recording
Supports a high bit rate of 200 Mbps for 59.94p/50p video recording with HEVC (LongGOP/10 bit 4:2:0/MOV) codec. The Super Slow-motion function supports 10-bit recording in FHD at 120/100fps* and 4K (UHD) VFR from 2 to 60fps
for over-cranked and under-cranked shots to allow for highly creative video expression. 4K High-Precision AF Face Detection precisely captures subjects on-site free from out of focus problems and insufficient exposure. Also, by adding color recognition, tracking subjects is improved, without interruption, when the face moves to either side. 5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S.+
In both UHD/FHD modes, in addition to Optical Image Stabilization, Electronic Image Stabilization detects and corrects handshake in the 5-axis direction. The Ball O.I.S. System reduces friction in the drive section, especially improving the correction of small-amplitude blurring.
4:2:2 10-bit Internal Recording
Records a 4:2:2 10-bit color profile of up to LongGOP UHD 29.97p/25p (150 Mbps), or FHD 59.94p/50p (100 Mbps) with SD cards. Outputs 10-bit UHD 59.94p/50p images via HDMI. HLG/13-stop V-Log for HDR Video Production
The X2 is equipped with HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) shooting mode, one of the standards related to HDR. In addition, it supports V-Log, which is also available on the Panasonic VARICAM cinema camera and LUMIX mirrorless cameras, providing 13 stops of latitude. When combined with a V-Log compatible camera, color grading provides a uniform image in post-production.
Simultaneous SDI/HDMI Output
Output of UHD 4:2:2 10-bit via HDMI and FHD 4:2:2 10-bit via SDI enable a variety of uses. In V-Log shooting, either V-Log or V709 (HDR or SDR in HLG shooting) can be selected for each of the SDI, HDMI and LCD video outputs.
Dual Codec Recording
Records images simultaneously in two different formats, such as Main (UHD/FHD) and Sub (FHD), etc. This achieves an efficient workflow.
Full-HD Live Streaming
RTSP/RTP/RTMP/RTMPS-compatible HD streaming enables direct connection and distribution of relays for concerts, sports events, and news flashes to Facebook, YouTube, etc. Wireless Control from a Tablet or Smartphone A Wi-Fi module is built-in, so Wi-Fi connection of only the body is possible. Using a tablet or smartphone app HC ROP, wireless camera settings and lens control are also possible. Functions and Designs that Support Professional Camera Work
Triple Manual Rings The X2 features triple manual rings on the lens barrel for Focus, Zoom and Iris control. These manual functions ensure professional operation and enable speedy and intuitive camera work.
2-Channel XLR Audio Input Terminals
+48V Phantom Power Supply/MIC/LINE Selectable XLR Audio Input with Manual Volume is equipped for each of 2 channels. Also supports 24-bit high-resolution Linear PCM audio recording with a professional mic.
3.5-inch High Brightness LCD Monitor
The approx. 2,760-k dot LCD monitor realizes excellent visibility even in bright sunlight with high brightness, and an electrostatic touch panel for easy menu selection. Simultaneous LCD/EVF output constantly displays the LCD monitor image whether the EVF is being viewed or not. The 2,360K-dot-equivalent color OLED viewfinder can be tilted for added convenience. The large eyecup fits either eye comfortably.”
User Buttons
48 functions can be allocated to the User Buttons. There are a total of 14 User Buttons: nine on the body, and five on the LCD Touch Panel. The O.I.S. and D.ZOOM buttons can also be used as User Buttons.
